Eva Female Quartet

Heavenly Vocal from Bulgaria: Eva Female Quartet

Eva Quartet is a female vocal group from the Republic of Bulgaria. They preserve the traditional way of acappella in all performances and brought the Bulgarian Folklore legend to different music festivals in Europe. Members include: the soprano Gergana Dimitrova, the mezzosoprano Sofia Kovacheva, the alto Eveline Stoilova, the contralto Daniela Stoichkova, and Milen Ivanov as their choirmaster.
In the 1970’s, with the release of a monumental album titled ‘Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares’ (The Mystery of Bulgarian Vocals) where Eva quartet was involved, Balkanian folk music became a massive hit in Europe. Eva quartet’s later recording named ‘The Arch’ produced by the famous French musician Hector Zazou has won Robin Denselow’s (senior critic of The Guardian) praise as ‘the epic swansong’. Their current project is an album of chants.
